For those of you who may have missed it, I posted a new short story called Clean Getaway on the site yesterday. If you have time, take a look and give me some feedback on it. Hope you enjoy it.
I’m also thinking of doing some new things on the site, thanks to reading really talented writers like Stephanie Sinkhorn and Lauren Ward. Over the next few weeks I’m going to add some more short stories and scraps — odds and ends that don’t really go anywhere else. For example, I started a novel a few years ago that simply didn’t go anywhere after about the first 11 chapters. I called it Baptist Hill, and it was pretty good.
You’ll note “pretty good” is not the same as publishable. Anyway, I’ll probably post some of that up here as well. I’m working on finding ways to make me take my writing — and my desire to write — more seriously. I screw around far too much. I’m not writing every day like a good writer should. I’m not learning more of my craft. I’m coasting. I’ve got to be better than that.
